Hamilton Park Racecourse incident: Two men stable in hospital after cherrypicker fall

Two men who fell off a cherrypicker at Hamilton Park Racecourse yesterday are in a stable condition in hospital as they receive treatment for their injuries.

The incident happened around 1.50pm yesterday at the iconic racing venue on Bothwell Road, prompting a 'major' incident response involving police, firefighters and ambulance crews.

Scottish Fire & Rescue Service personnel were required to use an aerial rescue appliance to recover the two casualties after they had fallen onto the roof of a vehicle from the mobile platform.

One man was treated at the scene, while another was rushed to Wishaw General Hospital, where both remain.
