A Hamilton nursery, which re-opened today (Monday, July 20), have installed touchless thermal body cameras in a bid to keep their kids and staff safe.
Nursery Times at the Park say they are one of the first in Scotland to invest in the safety technology, which monitors the temperature of everyone who enters and leaves the building.
In addition, the nursery say all the toys, electrical devices and surfaces will be sprayed by anti-microbial electrostatic spraying every four weeks.
The nursery, which is located at Hamilton Accies’ stadium, say they have “invested heavily” to ensure it is a safe and clean environment in which to welcome back the children.
Miriam Cannon, managing director, said: “We believe we are one of the first nurseries in Scotland to have installed the touchless thermal body cameras to monitor temperatures of everyone who enters and leaves the building.
“This will help detect a raised temperature - one of the main symptoms of COVID-19. It is also unobtrusive and can check up to 30 people at one time entering and leaving the building.
“Anyone exhibiting a raised temperature will be denied access to the nursery building.
“We will also have anti-microbial electrostatic spraying which is effective for 30 days and kills 99.9 per cent of harmful viruses, including COVID-19.
“Large companies like London Transport are using same system. We will also have disinfectant mats at entrances to clean soles of shoes. All of these are additional measures to the normal, rigorous daily cleaning schedules the nursery has in place.”
