Hamilton must turn performances into points, says Guillaume Beuzelin

Hamilton assistant coach Guillaume Beuzelin says his side must start to turn good performances into wins as they bid to climb the Premiership table.

The Frenchman was left frustrated as Rangers ran out 4-1 winners in the Sciottish Cup fifth round, but Beuzelin immediately turned his attention to the visit by Aberdeen on Tuesday, and a clash at bottom side Hearts next Saturday.

He said: "It was a similar scenario to last week against Celtic in that we competed against one of the best teams in the country, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. Three substitutions had to be made before half-time, which a massive impact on the game.

"In the second half we could have brought on some fresh legs to help us to get through that, and it was disappointing in the end.

"Now we need to get results, and the perfect opportunity is on Tuesday, at home to Aberdeen.

"At home we perform well, but now we need to capitalise with points, because we definitely need that in the league.

"We have two very big games this week that are very important, Aberdeen and Hearts, who are just a point behind us, and we need to get points on the board."

Rangers' goals spree was started in 25 minutes when Jamie Hamilton hauled striker Alfredo Morelos to the ground inside the box, and Scott Arfield netted the penalty.

The 17-year-old defender was also sent off for a foul on Leigh Griffiths, which led to a Celtic equaliser last week, as the champions also ran out 4-1 winners.

Beuzy said: "Jamie is a talented boy, if he starts the game for us it's for a reason, because we know he is capable of dealing with that, but a little mistake at this level means you pay the cash, as a centre-half.

"If he's a 17-year-old up front you don't pay too much attention if he makes a mistake, but as a centre-half you get punished straight away.

"We know he is capable of dealing with that, and he will learn from that."
