Hamilton law firm donate £612 to Advertiser Toy Appeal

Just when we thought the Advertiser’s Christmas toy appeal couldn’t get any better, it did!

Earlier this week we took delivery of a £612 cheque from Hamilton law firm Strefford Tulips.

Staff there held various fundraisers throughout the year, including dressing up at Halloween and also holding a Christmas Jumper day.

Both events raised a joint £306, which was very kindly doubled by the firm’s partners.

It is a fantastic final boost to our appeal this year.

Furthermore, we received a huge donation of toys from our friends at Morrison Utilities of Bellshill on Monday.

Cadzow Parish Church members donated bags of goodies and we received boxes of toys from the kind parents of children at Montessori Nursery in Bothwell.

Advertiser reporter Leona Greenan, toy appeal coordinator, said: “Just as our appeal was coming to a close we received three huge donations of toys. These were a very welcome addition to the appeal and we thank Montessori Nursery, Cadzow Parish Church and Morrison Utilities very much.

“To top it all off, Strefford Tulips donated an amazing £612 which has been banked and will be used to purchase any items we may still require – such as gift vouchers, wrapping paper, batteries etc.

“We are hugely grateful to the staff and partners there for choosing to support our appeal this year, so thank you.”

Check next week’s Advertiser for our final toy appeal round-up and to find out just how you, our readers, have helped local families and children this Christmas .
