Hamilton jobbygate sparks BBC pundit reaction as Michael Stewart demands to know what was said

We've all had a laugh at Hamilton 's jobbygate and the pundits covering tonight's games for the BBC were no exception.

The Accies TV co-commentator Bobby Bulloch made an epic blunder on air just after half-time in the game with Ross County when he said he'd been away for a "jobby".

And while the moment gave a Scotland's beleaguered football community a rare smile at the sheer outlandishness of the moment, nobody at the club was laughing.

Accies quickly distanced themselves from the pundit, issuing a statement that said they would not work with him again.

And as the news filtered in to the BBC, the Sports team could barely contain their amusement with much of the mirth apparently fuelled by their inability to use the offending word on the national broadcaster's platform.

Here are their reactions to the Hamilton statement in full.

Allan Preston: "Sorry Richard, I will let Michael read this out to you."

Michael Stewart (SNS Group)

Michael Stewart: "Hamilton Accies have tweeted something out. A contractor used by the club on summarising / co-commentary duties overstepped the mark this evening with a very poor attempt at humour. The club didn’t find this funny, and the person will not be used again. Our apologies for this."

Billy Dodds: "Oh no. It could happen to any of us."

Stewart: "He has been to the bathroom and used some language that they didn't think was appropriate." (laughter)

Tom English: "Is this a Billy Connolly word?"

Richard Gordon: "It is. (laughter) I mean really? Derek (Ferguson) you are there."

Stewart: "Did you hear it?"

Former Rangers star Derek Ferguson (SNS)

Derek Ferguson: "Producer David (was telling me about it), and I didn't quite catch what he said to me and I thought, is it me? (uproarious laughter). I was assured by a colleague it wasn't me. I was worried for a second or two there."

The conversation moved on but soon returned to the hilarity.

Gordon: "I think Tom may have just found out what was said at Hamilton."

English: "I know what was said..."

Stewart: "What was said Tom?"

English: "Mikey, I'm rising above this."

Gordon: "If this was Off The Ball we could say it without thinking about it."

English: "It's toilet humour. Some of the responses on social media are I suspect libellous, others are..."

Gordon: "Are there any that suggest banning him was the actions of a jobsworth?" (laughter)

English: "That's a straight red card."

Gordon: "I'm simply asking!"
