Robbers raided a Hamilton jewellery shop in the early hours of this morning and fled with a stash of valuables.
Heart of Gold was targeted in a smash and grab job some time between 2.30am and 3.30am, police have confirmed.
The windows at the Quarry Street shop were smashed in order to gain access to the jewellery.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called around 4.10am on Friday, 13 March, to a report of a break-in at a jewellery store on Quarry Street, Hamilton.
“The windows were smashed and an unknown quantity of jewellery was stolen.
“Enquiries, which are at an early stage, are ongoing but it’s believed the break-in took place between 2.30am and 3.30am.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact officers via 101, quoting incident number 0331 of Friday, March 13.”
