Lewis Hamilton has won his fourth Formula One world drivers' championship with a ninth-place finish in his Mercedes at the Mexican Grand Prix.
Red Bull driver Max Verstappen won the race and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel did not do enough to remain in the championship race, finishing fourth.
A first-lap incident involving Verstappen, Vettel and Hamilton resulted in the German driver needing to pit to replace his Ferrari's nose cone and left Hamilton with a flat tyre.
Verstappen, whose bold move had resulted in his coming together with Vettel and then Vettel coming together with Hamilton, took the lead and held it to the chequered flag.
Australia's Daniel Ricciardo leapt from 16th to eighth before he was forced to retire with engine trouble.
More to come.
