Hamilton Accies have been relegated to League One, pending an appeal.
Today's results in the Championship mean that, with just two games to go, the Lanarkshire club is unable to catch Airdrieonians in ninth spot. John Rankin's men were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Queen's Park.
Accies were hit with a 15-point deduction by the SPFL this week, after a disciplinary panel found the club guilty on four charges for breaches of league rules.
Fans reacted angrily at full time this afternoon, with the club's CEO, Seref Zengin, escorted from the stands by police amid the scenes of discontent.
As things stand, Hamilton will be relegated when the season concludes after matchday 38.
However, the club's board confirmed they will lodge an appeal against the sanctions - which also included a £9,000 fine - in a statement.
It reads: "Hamilton Academical Football Club can confirm following a board meeting this afternoon that we shall be launching an appeal against the SPFL Tribunal Determination communicated to us yesterday.
"At this time, we are unable to provide any further comments on the matter.
"We kindly ask for the continued backing of the players and management team as we enter the final three crucial games of the season. Your support plays a vital role in driving the team forward, and it will be more important than ever as we push for a strong finish.
"Thank you for your understanding and support. Hamilton Academical Board Of Directors."
