A Hamilton boutique has organised its very own Elite Prom for Lanarkshire school leavers.
With the pandemic cancelling most of last year's proms and plans for this year's events still up in the air, Deja Elite Boutique on Bothwell Road, will host the event at Hamilton Park Racecourse on Thursday, August 26.
And they promise it will be the biggest event of the year, subject to Government restrictions permitting.
The venue caters for 250 and Deja Elite have released 200 tickets online now.
The £48 cost includes:
Round table settings set up with chair /table covers/centrepiece
Flower wall /balloons photography background
Official photograph & group photos
A three-course meal
Music / dance floor
Deja Elite Boutique owner Lesley Batchelor told Lanarkshire Live : "We are putting the Elite Prom on as a non-profit event - with the tickets reflecting the actual cost of the night - because so many girls already had their dresses bought and boys suits or kilts purchased but their night was cancelled due to the pandemic.
"It has simply been awful for people, spending so much money on lovely dresses and outfits for them not to be used.
"So we thought we'd hold a prom event for 200 pupils who missed out on last year's prom and for this year's school leavers who might not even know if their prom is going ahead.
"Paintbox make up studio is also offering discounted rates and at Deja Elite Boutique we are opening an outlet store next week with prom dresses from £59 .
"The school kids have suffered a great deal through lockdowns, no exams and end of term holidays being cancelled. The prom really is their end of school life rite of passage and a celebration of their future and this is just our way of giving back to the community and to drive some life back into hospitality locally."
Lesley was also keen to stress that attendees are not required to have purchased a dress from her boutique.
