Hamilton boss Brian Rice has no interest in Falkirk job, says Accies chairman

Hamilton Accies chairman Allan Maitland has insisted Brian Rice has no interest in the Falkirk job after the Bairns were refused permission to speak to the Accies boss about taking over at the Bairns.

League One Falkirk are on the hunt for a new boss following the sacking of co-gaffers Lee Miller and David McCracken in April and made their move for the Accies boss following their relegation from the Premiership on Sunday.

Rice, who signed a one-year contract extension at New Douglas in April New Douglas Park, is a former player, having spent four years with the club and also being the assistant manager there under John Hughes.

Accies chairman Allan Maitland told Lanarkshire Live Sport : "Falkirk made a very courteous approach to us to speak to Brian.

"We spoke to Brian about it but Brian had no interest in speaking to Falkirk and we had no interest in speaking to Falkirk either.

"Everyone is fully committed to taking Hamilton Accies forward and we are fully focused on next season with Brian at the club."
