One lucky bingo player has claimed a life-changing £50,000 at Mecca Bingo Hamilton.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is a regular at the club at Hamilton Retail Park and was enjoying an evening out when all their numbers came up.
The entire club erupted into cheers of congratulations when they made their claim on the National Bingo Game, calling ‘house’ for the win.
Mecca Hamilton was already in the party mood as they were celebrating the 65th birthdays of not one but two long-serving team members, Billy Hampton and Bobby McCallum.
The night was topped off with the jaw-dropping win in the National Bingo Game for the lucky winner.
Duncan Anderson, general manager at the bingo hall, told Lanarkshire Live: “It was already a special night as we were celebrating Billy and Bobby’s big birthdays.
"But when one of our regular players became a big jackpot winner, it really made the whole weekend. The atmosphere in the club for the rest of the night was electric.
"We’re ecstatic for them.”
Alastair Stewart, head of commercial operations at the National Bingo Game, said he was "delighted" for the lucky winner, adding that he hoped "they enjoy their winnings".
