Hamilton Beer Festival is a huge success

More than 800 people had fun in the sun as Hamilton Rugby Club’s popular Beer Festival returned to Laigh Bent.

Poor weather had been forecast for Saturday, with thunder and rain showers rumoured, but that stayed away as people enjoyed beers from all over Scotland, plus fun and games for all ages.

Two rugby matches, a family fun zone and a community pitch added to the fun.

The club’s rugby development officer Steven Meenagh said: “The event was an excellent way for the club to open its doors to the community.

“We had many people come along who might not always be at the club for games at the weekend.

“The club showed what can be achieved when everyone pulls together. These events are vital to support the work that the club puts back in the community through our school programme.”
