Hamilton Accies have confirmed that they have lodged an appeal against Jamie Hamilton's red card in the 2-0 defeat against Hibs on Saturday.
The 18-year-old was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Martin Boyle 12 minutes into the clash at Easter Road, which appeared to swing the game in favour of the hosts.
A statement issued by the New Douglas Park club read: "Hamilton Academical FC can confirm the decision to submit an appeal against the red card given to Jamie Hamilton during the Premiership match against Hibernian on Saturday.
"This has been submitted to the Scottish FA Judicial Panel.
"The club will be making no further comment at this moment in time."
