Hamilton and District Athletics Club set new records at national event

Hamilton and District Athletics Club set two club records at the Scottish Athletics National Relay Championships.

Their Under-13 girls’ 4 x 100m gold medallists Neve Elliott, Orla Brown, Lauren Kane and Tiana Greenshields attended the event at Pitreavie Stadium in Dunfermline.

They competed in the first of four rounds where they qualified into the final as the fifth fastest team, setting a new club record.

Two hours later they ran the final, finishing sixth in Scotland and setting another club record.

Coach Gregg Dick said: “It was great running from the girls, and given that we are a tiny club of 55 members, we were up against the biggest clubs in Scotland, where we did not disgrace ourselves.

“The club is very proud of the girls’ achievements.”
