Hamilton 'actively' searching for new assistant as boss explains Beuzelin situation

Hamilton Accies are hopeful of a swift appointment to counter the loss of assistant manager Guillaume Beuzelin.

The 42-year-old's exit was announced suddenly before Stuart Taylor's side lost 1-0 to Partick Thistle in the Championship.

The Jags didn't create many chances before Lewis Mayo's second half header sealed the win, and Ian McCall's side controlled the game afterwards.

Beuzelin joined Hamilton as a player in 2009 and was named assistant manager in 2015 when Martin Canning was head coach at the club. He has served under Brian Rice and Taylor.

Accies are eighth in the Championship after the loss at Firhill and Taylor says work is underway to find a new man to work with.

He said of Beuzelin's departure: "It was a mutual decision and the club move forward. Hopefully we will have a new assistant in soon. When it happened, I actively started looking.

"Hopefully we will get someone soon. It's part of football and it isn't a nice thing. I made sure that the players all contacted him to thank him for everything he's done at the football club.

"We thank him for his time, advice and everything he's done over the time he's been here. We wish him good luck but we need to move forward."

Fine margins again cost Accies in Taylor's opinion as his side failed to keep a clean sheet at Firhill and score at the other end.

While aware it's a tough spell for his team, the Hamilton head coach is encouraged by his side's good moments in games.

Taylor added: "I think the harsh reality of football is that it's very difficult to win games of football if you don't keep clean sheets. It's difficult to win games if you don't score goals.

"But I thought we competed well in the game and you could tell by their reaction at full-time, the way they celebrated, that it was a big one for them in terms of how we played.

"I don't think we done enough to win the game but I also think we didn't do enough to lose the game. It had 0-0 written all over it."
