Hamilton Accies unveil two new signings as they return to training

Hamilton Accies have announced the signings of midfielder Ross Callachan and striker Callum Smith.

Canadian midfielder Charlie Trafford, 28, has also joined the club, but is in quarantine after flying over from Canada to sign.

Callum. 20, has signed a two-year deal after leaving Dunfermline Athletic, and was on loan at Airdrie last season.

Smith is a Fife Elite Academy graduate who has also played for Alloa, and has been capped at Scotland under-19 level.

Trafford has spent the last three seasons at Inverness, but has also spent time in Canada, Finland and Poland.

Callachan, 20, joins from St Johnstone and has also been at Hearts.

Hamilton boss Brian Rice is delighted with the signings and told the club's website: "Callum Smith is a young player who I have been watching for a few years.

"He had a fantastic season at Airdrie, so I think he has a chance here.

"He's a worker and that's everything we're all about at Hamilton.

Charlie I know from my time at Inverness, so I know exactly what I'm getting.

"He's a disciplined midfielder, a role we needed to fill, and he fits the profile.

"I didn't want to take a chance on this position, and sign someone I've only seen play a couple of times. I know what I'm getting from Charlie."

Rice added: "Ross is a player I have been watching, he's a box to box midfielder who scores goals, and there aren't many of them about. He's one of those players that will clear a ball at one end and score in the other.

"I believe Ross is one the fans will take to."
