Thousands of people flocked to Hamilton Accies Football Club this week for its first ever three-day family fun event.
People across Lanarkshire and beyond attended the Dino-mite event and helped raise £18,000 for the Championship football side’s Elite Youth Academy.
The event was hailed a huge success by organisers and those in attendance who enjoyed a Jurrasic dinosaur display, fairground rides, children's tattooist, games, Widows Sons' motorbikers and more.
Such an occasion proves a real lifeline for clubs like Hamilton Accies, who rely on community support to help sustain them and all they offer.
Accies chief executive Colin McGowan thanked the public for continuing to support their endeavours.
He said: “In the ever changing world of football, at Accies it is becoming increasingly apparent that by better serving our community with events like this – or our tribute act evenings, fireworks display, party nights and our upcoming special nine days of Christmas event – that these additional income streams are absolutely essential to the club’s survival.

“Football income alone simply cannot fund a community club of our size with a youth academy that has the vision and belief of ours.
“And it was our community who helped to raise a spectacular £18,000 over three days for our youth academy, so a huge thank you to you all for always supporting our projects.
“A big thank you also to Generation Events, Funtastic Events, our sponsors Pro Signs and Clini Waste and our army of volunteers for helping to make this possible.”

George Cairns, director of Accies Youth Academy added: “A huge thank you to the community who got right behind our three days of fun event which helped raise £18,000 for the club and to all of our volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this happen."
