Hamilton Accies target George Oakley signs for Kilmarnock

Hamilton Accies target George Oakley has completed his move to Kilmarnock.

Oakley has joined the Rugby Park side on a deal until the end of the season after leaving Pirin Blagoevgrad.

Earlier today, Brian Rice revealed that Accies attempted to lure Oakley back to New Douglas Park after he enjoyed a successful 18 month spell before moving to Bulgaria last summer.

But Oakley rejected the offer from his former boss and expressed his delight at signing for Alex Dyer's side.

Speaking to the Kilmarnock website, Oakley said: "It’s a privilege to be here. I’ve played in Scotland for the past few years against Kilmarnock and they were always really tough games.

“I’m an old fashioned number nine but I like to run and make moves off the ball to help the team. I’m a pest that’ll bring people into play, do the graft and chase lost causes.

“I’m looking forward to getting started, this place feels like home already because everyone’s been great with me.

"Hopefully I can get my teeth straight into it if I’m selected on Wednesday.”

Oakley enjoyed a breakthrough spell at Inverness Caldedonian Thistle before joining Hamilton where he scored a famous strike away to Aberdeen.
