Hamilton Accies' preparations for the new season suffered a setback when they went down 5-0 at home to Dundee in a bounce game this afternoon.
Brian Rice's side spent last weekend at a training camp in Largs to build towards the competitive action, which gets underway on Friday night in their Premier Sports League Cup opener away to Edinburgh City.
But a double from Luke McCowan plus strikes from Lee Ashcroft, Declan McDaid and Alex Jakubiak gave the Premiership side victory behind closed doors at New Douglas Park.
It's understood Hamilton, who are looking to bounce back from their relegation to the Championship last term, did have some key players missing for the clash.
Earlier in the week, star man Hakeem Odoffin told the club website how pleased he was with the preparations so far.

He said: “Pre-season with the lads has been great we have set a high standard during the last two weeks.
"The gaffer made it clear from the first session that he wants us ready for the cup and that standard we have started is something we want to keep going throughout the season.”
Accies are due to play their final warm-up game against Clyde ahead of Friday's clash with City and will hope to get a positive performance there to take into the real action starting.
