Hamilton Accies struck by new coronavirus blow as first team star tests positive ahead of Hibs clash

Hamilton have suffered a fresh coronavirus blow just two days before their scheduled visit to Hibs.

An Accies first team player is self-isolating after testing positive for Covid earlier this week and will miss the trip to Leith.

Training was cancelled on Tuesday. But Record Sport understands the rest of the squad managed to train this morning with no further positive tests received.

It’s the latest Covid headache to befall Brian Rice and his Hamilton squad after four players missed the 2-1 defeat at Kilmarnock.

Three of those players later returned negative tests.

Earlier today Kilmarnock confirmed three members of staff had tested postive and were self-isolating ahead of their meeting with Motherwell.

Accies head to Easter Road on Friday evening looking to build on the weekend draw with Dundee United and move further away from the bottom of the Premiership.
