Jamie Hamilton was 'absolutely buzzing' to finally get off the mark and net his first Accies goal in Saturday’s important Premier Sports Cup win against Falkirk.
Hamilton fell behind early in the second-half as Aidan Nesbitt finished beyond Joe Hilton but the South Lanarkshire side showed a huge amount of character to turn the game on it’s head late on as Ronan Hughes’ penalty was followed by Jamie Hamilton’s looping header.
The talented 19-year-old defender has developed into a regular in the Hamilton defence since making his debut against Kilmarnock nearly two years ago.
He said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to score my first goal for Hamilton. It took me long enough, around 40 odd games, I think.
"Shaun {Want} did excellent to win the first header and I managed to react first to the second ball and head it into the back of the net.
“I thought we started the game really well but didn’t take our chances and then fell away from it a bit.
"We conceded a poor goal at the start of the second-half but showed a lot of character to bounce back and get the three points."

The Scotland youth international has shown huge strides of progression over the last year.
Hamilton is a very technically-gifted footballer and that shows with his tremendous composure, range of passing and his physicality despite still being a teenager.
Accies are set to welcome fans back to New Douglas Park for the first time in well over a year and Hamilton also cannot wait for their return.
He said: “I honestly can’t wait to see fans back inside the stadium and I’m absolutely buzzing for them.
"It’s been a long year or so and I’m looking forward to seeing them back in the stands and hopefully we can get a win for them."
