Hamilton Accies spread some Christmas cheer at local care homes

Hamilton Accies did their bit to spread some much-needed festive cheer in the area last week.

That saw the club’s community director, and Lanarkshire’s deputy Lord Lieutenant, John Brown, don his Santa suit before making his way along to two Hamilton care homes.

And, laden with some Christmas gifts galore, he did his bit to spread some joy this festive season.

Accies chief executive Colin McGowan told Lanarkshire Live : "We are very much a community club and love to spread some Christmas cheer across the town.

“Thanks once again to John and Anita Brown for taking time out of their busy schedules to visit both care homes.

“I think everyone involved had a ball and there was a lot of smiles on the faces of not only the residents but also the staff too.”

Santa, along with his elf - who was actually John's wife Anita - visited both the Douglas View Care Home and then Abbeyvale Court Care Home where they kindly delivered the festive packs to every resident, courtesy of the SPFL Trust's Festive Friends Initiative.

Both care homes also received a case of wine courtesy of Hamilton Accies Football Club to be enjoyed on Christmas day, this Saturday.
