Hamilton Accies do not expect to make any deadline day signings - in a bitter blow to supporters desperate for a new striker.
It's been a hugely frustrating window for Accies boss Brian Rice with a number of moves for attackers falling through and players opting to go elsewhere after being offered terms with the Premiership club.
And Lanarkshire Live Sport understands that unless there is a dramatic turn of events, the window will slam shut at midnight with no new arrivals at New Douglas Park, leaving the Premiership's bottom side to enter a massive month of fixtures without any reinforcements.
Fans have been urging the club to bring in a forward to spark their survival bid and despite the club's best efforts it looks like they will have to make do with what they have.
Yesterday Rice said the club had "made proposals to one or two" players but it appears nothing has come of those enquiries as he took training this morning.

He had also revealed a move for Hearts striker Craig Wighton failed to come to fruition and that came after George Oakley last week turned down a return to the club in favour of Kilmarnock.
There is still hope though, as clubs can sign free agents beyond the window.
Across Lanarkshire, however, rivals Motherwell look set to add to their four January signings after chief executive Alan Burrows hinted "one or two" will come through the Fir Park doors over the course of the day.
