Hamilton Accies kid extends Albion Rovers stay after overcoming injury woes

Albion Rovers have snapped up Hamilton Accies youngster Jack Breen on an extended loan deal.

Having initially signed until January, the midfielder has put pen to paper on a deal which will see him remain in League Two until the end of the season.

Despite an injury-hit start ti life in Coatbridge, Cliftonhill boss Kevin Harper was delighted to keep the 20-year-old who has emerged as a key man in the centre of the park in recent weeks.

Harper told the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser: "We've extended Jack's deal until the end of the season and we're delighted to keep him at the club.

"At the start of his spell here he had some injury problems but over the past few weeks he has done really well for the club.

"I spoke to Jack about missing some games and he understood. He was keen to stay get some game time and experience.

"That's good for the club that a Premiership that they want to come and play at our club.

"He's worked hard and he will be a big player for during the remainder of the season."
