Hamilton Accies have released midfielder Will Collar

Hamilton Accies have announced the departure of midfielder Will Collar.

The 23-year-old left the club last night after a frustrating spell at New Douglas Park, which was hampered by injury.

Accies released a statement, which read: "Hamilton Academical can confirm the departure of midfielder Will Collar who was released late on Monday evening.

"The midfielder, who turns 24 on Wednesday, joined us from Brighton & Hove Albion 18 months ago making 25 appearances and scoring once in a vital win over Hearts in December 2019.

"Will was a popular member of the squad and leaves with our best wishes for the future."

Collar's exit follows the release of Tudne Owolabi and Justin Johnson last night, and the arrival of Aberdeen striker Bruce Anderson who joined on loan until the end of the season.
