Hamilton Accies give injury update on Brighton linked kid Jamie Hamilton after Kilmarnock clash

Hamilton Accies boss Brian Rice praised Jamie Hamilton for coming off with illness against Kilmarnock.

The highly-rated defender was replaced by Mickel Miller after going down after 20 minutes of the clash.

Both the 18-year-old and midfielder Blair Alston were forced off in the first half of the win at New Douglas Park.

Hamilton spent time on trial at Premier League side Brighton last month and has also been linked with a move to Germany.

His gaffer hopes he will be back in time for the game against Ross Country with both players expected to take fitness checks throughout the week.

"Blair has hurt his groin and Jamie Hamilton has got swollen glands," Rice said.

"He was touch and go for the game. He did a test before the match and felt ok.

"After 10-15 minutes of the match I could see he wasn't right. He did a couple of things that he wouldn't normally do.

"The young kid was brave enough to hold his hand up and say I need to come off."
