Hamilton Accies give a closer look at quirky idea to put 'fans in the stands'

Hamilton Accies have given a glimpse of the quirky lengths they are going to in order to 'support' the team in behind closed doors games next season.

The Premiership side announced earlier this week they had signed a five-figure sponsorship deal with food firm German Donner Kebab, which will see life-size correx cut-outs of supporters replacing real-life fans during the ban on large crowds attending sports fixtures.

And now fans can see for themselves just what that will look like.

Accies club receptionist Gillian Cunning was on hand to launch the initiative, which will see fans pay £30 to have their face on a cutout in the stand.

Sponsors German Donner Kebab company will also provide fans with a free voucher to use when they open their new shop in Hamilton later this year.

The club will be live streaming all home games this season for £10 per game, so fans can look out for themselves on live broadcasts.

Details on how fans can get involved will be announced soon.

The new season is set to kick-off on August 1 behind closed doors and Accies are due to return to training next month.
