Hamilton Accies Football Club are leading the way in Scottish Football with the installation of a dedicated Teqball outdoor arena.
The Scottish Premier League outfit officially opened the area, set within the grounds of their Foy’s Stadium, last week with both first team and youth players alike rushing to try out their new training equipment.
Teqball is a new sports equipment, which is perfectly suitable for professional footballers as well as amateur enthusiasts whose ambition is to develop their technical skills, concentration and stamina.
With a solid net in the middle, the structure of a Teqball table aligned with the rules, does not allow luck or chance to interfere with the game and players can only rely on their skills and abilities.
The equipment is currently used worldwide by top teams including Arsenal, Ajax, AC Milan and Bayern Munich with football players such as Gianfranco Zola and Thomas Muller among its fans.
Hamilton Accies chief executive Colin McGowan said: “We believe we are the first club in Scotland to install such innovative equipment that will undoubtedly improve our players’ skills.
“The youth academy players and first team squad could not wait to get to grips with the Teqball table and play a few games and it is already looking like a great way for the academy and senior players alike to enhance their ball skills.”
The company also run an annual Teqball World Cup and Accies already have their eye on the prize.
Colin added: “You never know stranger things have happened in football!”
