Hamilton Accies face champions Celtic on the Scottish Premiership opening day as fixture list revealed

Hamilton Accies will take on champions Celtic at Celtic Park on Sunday, August 2, to start their eighth consecutive year in the top flight of Scottish football.

It will be a tough test for Brian Rice and his players as they take on Neil Lennon's side, who are gunning for their 10th straight Premiership title, with a 4.30pm kick-off.

Fans will also be marking their calendars for the first Lanarkshire Derby of the season as they clash with local rivals Motherwell at Fir Park on August 22.

Top scorer last season: Marios Ogkmpoe/Ross Cunningham (7 goals)

In: Callum Smith (Dunfermline), Charlie Trafford (Inverness CT), Ross Callachan (St Johnstone).

After starting at Celtic, Hamilton host Ross County on August 8, visit Aberdeen four days later, and entertain St Mirren on August 15.

That Lanarkshire derby at Fir Park on August 22 will provide plenty of interest for supporters, too.
