Hamilton Accies dud slaughters Scottish football and Brian Rice as he vows to pen tell-all book

German flop Adrian Beck has blasted his spell in Scottish football and admits he's astonished Hamilton gaffer Brian Rice wasn't sacked.

The German midfielder endured a brief and forgettable six-month stay at Accies after arriving on loan from Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise, where he started just two games and made a further four substitute appearances where Hamilton failed to win a game.

His loan deal, which was supposed to last for the season, was quietly cut short and he is now back in German football playing for fourth tier side SSV Ulm.

But the 22-year-old former Hoffenheim player certainly won't forget his time in the Premiership.

He said: "I didn't fit in at all at Hamilton, both in terms of the surroundings and from a footballing point of view.

"It was a relegation battle and a complete struggle.

"They only played high balls all game. That's not my idea of football.

"It went well at the beginning and I played at Ibrox in front of 50,000 fans - that's something you will never forget for your whole life.

"I played at Celtic and helped us get the score back to 1-1 for a time. I thought I did well and also played well for the reserves.

"But the manager then made it very clear to me he wanted to rely on the home-based players and not loan players like me.

"The manager was then banned for betting, but he kept his job!

"If that happened in Germany, you would never work again. You would have no chance of getting a job there.

"I didn't want to stay in Scotland when I wouldn't play so I returned to Germany. One day I will write a book about my experiences there.

"You just don't realise just what we have here in Germany until you experience football elsewhere."
