Hamilton Accies bringing in performance analyst the focus for boss Stuart Taylor

Stuart Taylor admits his current focus is not on transfers but on bringing in a performance analyst at Hamilton Accies to improve their displays on the pitch.

The New Douglas Park gaffer made two signings before Tuesday's transfer deadline, but also missed out on a couple of new faces to strengthen his squad.

Fans have been vocal in their pleas for a striker to come in, but even with free agents and loan moves still an option for Accies, they will not be rushing into anything ahead of their next competitive outing on September 11 away to Arbroath in the Championship.

Instead, Taylor says the club will complete their process of bringing in new staff to assist with in-game and post-match analysis.

He told Lanarkshire Live Sport : "I've not actively been looking [for new signings] in the last couple of days because there's staff we need to bring in as well.

"That's my focus at the moment with us not having a game on Saturday.

"Don't get me wrong, there's still agents sending me players, which is just the norm.

"Over the weekend I will have a look at what players are still floating about.

"If there are players who we believe can improve the football club then we'll look at that.

"But we need to get a couple of members of staff in the backroom team and we've got interviews to do with that.

"It's an analyst we are looking to bring in.

"Analysis is a big part of what I want to do here for the players' education.

"It is a full-time job and it's too difficult for me to take on along with everything else I'm doing.

"Hopefully we will get someone in very soon.

"Nobody is leaving or anything like that, we are adding and building to what we already have on the team here."

Taylor isn't dwelling on missing out on the two targets he missed out on earlier in the week, one of which he described as a cheeky bid.

The arrivals of Wolves right-back Luke Matheson and Hearts centre-back Mihai Popsec on loan have bolstered the defence amid Scott McMann's move to Premiership side Dundee United.

And he added: "I don't deal with disappointments. If something doesn't happen I just move on and deal with it.

"Looking at the positive side, the two players we brought in are great additions to the squad and we are looking forward to having the boys in for a session on Saturday."
