New Hamilton Accies boss Stuart Taylor admits tomorrow will be an important day in the club's quest to strengthen ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline - with the club having "good conversations" with signing targets.
The 46-year-old, who was appointed Brian Rice's successor on Friday, began his work in earnest on Monday and took his first training session with the squad yesterday, as he cast an eye over the players at his disposal.
Taylor insists he is not looking to wield the axe to the squad he has inherited, but is eager to make one or two additions.
And there's a chance he could welcome his first signing before Saturday's trip to Queen of the South.
He said: "There's quick decisions to be made and I'm not scared to make those decisions.
"I have that belief, it's just whether we can get them over the line.
"I've been there at previous clubs when you think everything is going through, medical is done, and then at the last minute he gets a phone call and he's away somewhere else.
"That happens in football.
"So until we actually get pen to paper...

"We are actively trying very hard and there's loads of conversations going on, so hopefully we get one or two of them through.
"It would be a little bit unfair to say we are looking for certain positions because we've got players here.
"I'm happy with the players we have here - there's nobody that I'm wanting out or anything like that.
"Do we need to strengthen? Do we need help? Of course.
"We are in good conversations with people I trust.
"They are positive on it from their side, it's just how quickly can we do things.
"There may well be [a player before the weekend] but I don't know.
"I think tomorrow might be a really important day in terms of where we actually are with it all."
Taylor hopes to have a full squad to choose from for the trip to Palmerston, although midfielder David Templeton, who came on as a second half substitute in last week's 2-0 defeat to Kilmarnock, is a doubt after feeling discomfort in his hamstring.

After his first session at New Douglas Park, Taylor is delighted with what he has seen so far on his return to the club he played for and spent four years as assistant manager to Billy Reid.
He added: "Yesterday's session was full of lots of information and it was a really intense session, which is what we are looking for.
"We just had a chat before we went out for training in terms of our intentions going forward, how we want to work, how we want to do things and it was enjoyable.

"They are a good group of lads and an honest group of lads, which is the basics of what you want to work from.
"Certainly, there's things we need to work on, but every club is the same.
"There's things we need to improve, things we need to progress and there's things we need to stop doing, things we need to start doing.
"Those were the things we started on yesterday and we are hoping to improve on over time.
"Going into Saturday's game it is going to be very tough.
"They [Queens] are a good side who have started the season very well and they've got aspects and attributes we need to take care of."
