Hamilton Accies are looking to settle scores in next four games, says boss

Hamilton Accies boss Stuart Taylor says his side have a point to prove in their next four games - but no more so than any other run of fixtures.

Accies host Kilmarnock on Boxing Day before heading to Championship leaders Arbroath on Wednesday, visit Queen of the South on Sunday, January 2, and host Partick Thistle six days later.

All but Queens have taken wins against Taylor's side this season and he acknowledges that it's a tough run, but says they're on an unbeaten run of three games themselves.

Taylor's first game was a 2-1 win over Queen of the South on August 28, and they then beat the Dumfries side 1-0 at New Douglas Park in October.

Arbroath thumped Accies 4-0 on September 11, with the sides battling out a 1-1 draw at Hamilton in November, and Partick Thistle racked up a 6-1 win in October and a 1-0 Firhill triumph on November 20.

Sunday's opponents Kilmarnock have won all three previous meetings this season.

Taylor said: "I think there are points to prove in every single game, even games when you've maybe had 100 per cent against teams. The point you go and prove is that you have to go and do it again.

"There are certain elements in there, and motivational factors that you will use - definitely.

Taylor hopes his side will be celebrating with another three valuable points on Sunday (SNS Group)

"I've always said Arbroath are one of the best teams in the league, I said it away back at the start, and before we went up and played against them the last time.

"We're going into the next game against Queen of the South, which is a hard place to go, a very tough side to play against, and then we have Partick Thistle after that who are flying as well.

"The run of games is really difficult, and we'll take each game as it comes."

Taylor was delighted with last weekend's 2-1 comeback win at Inverness, with David Moyo equalising Cameron Harper's opener before young Andy Winter bagged a late winner.

He said: I was really happy with them. I thought in the first half there wasn't really much in the game, but I felt that we were comfortable, that we had good possession and hurt them very well at times on the break.

"We got into good opportunities to get shots away. We could have done better in that final third, but I think we were the ones that maybe slightly edged it in that sense.

"At the start of the second half they came out the traps, were by far the better team, and the goal, you could sense that threat - but I thought the reaction after that was absolutely superb.

"We speak about disappointment and how to react from that, and I thought the lads were different class from it.

"They really stood up, really got aggressive, and really positive and it was attack after attack.

"They were relentless with it, and I'm really delighted that they got the win."
