Hamilton Accies were hit by a late sickener for the second week running after conceding a stoppage time equaliser to Arbroath.
Andy Ryan's first half penalty had Accies on course for a memorable win, but Thomas O'Brien headed home in the first minute of stoppage time to earn a point.
Last week Morton struck in the sixth minute of added on time to claim a 1-1 draw and Stuart Taylor's side suffered a painful dose of deja vu at New Douglas Park.
Arbroath are likely to feel aggrieved after Anton Dowds was convinced his first half effort was over the line before Accies keeper Joe Hilton clawed it away.
But Lichties got a share of the spoils after a feisty contest that even saw gaffers Stuart Taylor and Dick Campbell involved in some heated touchline exchanges.
The result keeps Accies seventh in the table, while Arbroath remain third.
Accies made two changes from last week’s controversial late draw at Morton, as Ryan and Luke Matheson came into the side at the expense of Mihai Popescu and Marley Redfern.
For high-flying Lichties, boss Dick Campbell named the same side that dispatched Dunfermline 4-2 at Gayfield last week and ended Peter Grant's ill-fated spell in charge of the Pars.
The first real opportunity of the match fell to the hosts inside four minutes when Josh Mullin's fine pass found Matheson, but when his cross eventually fell for Lewis Smith in the box, the winger skewed his strike away from the target.
A rasping drive from Thomas O'Brien in 13 minutes had Hamilton keeper Joe Hilton scrambling across his goal and he was relieved to see the effort from distance flash past his right-hand post.
Interestingly, there were three players with the surname Hamilton featuring among the 22 starters. Jamie Hamilton was at the heart of the Accies defence, while Colin Hamilton and Chris Hamilton were on either side of Arbroath's back four.
And Colin Hamilton ended up having a hand in the opener for the hosts when he brought down Ryan for a stonewall penalty, tripping the Accies striker as he went to shoot.
Ryan dusted himself down and sent Derek Gaston the wrong way from the spot to fire Accies ahead after 16 minutes for his sixth goal of the season.
Nine minutes later Arbroath should have been level when a corner from the left fell favourably for Luke Donnelly at the back post, but his header was straight into the grateful arms of Hilton. An Anton Dowds header soon after was also comfortably collected, while Jamie Hamilton stabbed away a tantalising cross across goal by Joel Nouble.
Accies were given another let off when a mix-up between Matheson and Hamilton at the back gifted a chance for Dowds, who dragged his shot wide with only Hilton to beat.
Hilton was the hero for Accies in 37 minutes when he clawed away a Dowds effort as it trundled towards the far corner.
The Litchies players were convinced it had crossed the line, but play raged on and Accies almost doubled their advantage, breaking on the counter. However, Moyo was thwarted by Gaston after being picked out superbly by Mullin.
Just before half-time, tempers flared in the dugout. A late tackle by Dowds on Reegan Mimnaugh in the middle of the park prompted an angry reaction from Accies boss Stuart Taylor.
Arbroath gaffer Dick Campbell wasn't too pleased with the reaction of Taylor and could be heard telling him to "calm yourself down." The pair had to be separated by the officials after a heated exchange.

In the second half, Arbroath continued their search for a leveller and Hilton got down well to save Donnelly's strike from the edge of the box early on.
Accies were camped in their own half but were managing to keep their visitors at bay as cross after cross was cleared by combinations of Jamie Hamilton, skipper Brian Easton, Matheson and David Moyo, who was having a good game at both ends of the pitch with his towering presence.
Campbell introduced Bobby Linn after an hour to try and find that creative spark and his corner from the left almost provided a leveller when O'Brien's glancing header drifted agonisingly wide of the far post after 65 minutes.
In 74 minutes Accies had a chance to put the game beyond Lichties when Mullin fired a ball across the face of goal and the inrushing Ronan Hughes narrowly failed to connect.
Lichties kept pushing but a strike from Linn was blocked a Nouble header sailed over the bar as Arbroath grew more and more frustrated.
Having lost a 96th minute equaliser at Morton last week, Taylor would have hoped his side were able to see this one out but he was left smacking his dugout in disgust as O'Brien headed home a last-gasp equaliser in the 91st minute from James Craigen's cross.
Accies are at home again next weekend when they welcome Raith Rovers to New Douglas Park in the Championship.
