Hamidou Diallo will miss the next four weeks after elbow procedure

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Hamidou Diallo underwent a successful arthroscopic procedure on his right elbow Wednesday morning in New York City, the team announced.

Diallo has not played meaningful minutes for the Thunder since January. In 51 games this season, Diallo averaged 3.7 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. He started three games for the team.

The team assigned Diallo to the OKC Blue of the G League for an extended stint following the All-Star break. He averaged 19.2 points and 7.5 rebounds in six games with the Blue this season.

It is unclear when Diallo suffered the injury to his right elbow. He had been with the team in Portland for the start of the playoffs but was listed as out on the injury report.

With Diallo now shelved for the rest of the season, it appears that he will be available to play with the team during the Summer League in Las Vegas starting on July 5.

Diallo is expected to resume basketball activities in four weeks.
