Oklahoma City Thunder guard Hamidou Diallo was seen over the weekend at the regular-season finale of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League in Dallas, TX.
Diallo, an EYBL alum, was spotted wearing a ‘Rare’ Michael Jordan shirt that featured the Hall of Famer donning a No. 12 Chicago Bulls jersey.
The legend has it that Jordan’s No. 23 jersey was stolen from the Bulls’ locker room prior to playing the Orlando Magic on the road on Valentine’s Day 1990.
The team equipment manager apparently found the No. 12 backup jersey packed in with other jerseys. It did not have a name on the back of it and would be the only time Jordan wore the number.
Of course, Jordan also wore the No. 45 when he came out of retirement in 1995 but would don the No. 23 for the majority of his career with the Bulls and during his two seasons with the Washington Wizards.
Although Jordan did not wear No. 23 that night against the Magic, he still dropped 49 points in a 135-129 overtime loss. That was the inaugural season for the Magic.
