Hamidou Diallo wants Zion Williamson in Slam Dunk Contest next year

Hamidou Diallo once lost to Duke freshman Zion Williamson in a dunk contest at the Under Armour Elite 24 Dunk Contest in 2016. After winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, Diallo wants a rematch.

Diallo took home the trophy at All-Star Saturday Night as the 6-foot-5 guard jumped over the 7-foot-1 Shaquille O’Neal and Quavo of Migos en route to his victory, among other dunks.

Of course, Williamson is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, and if Williamson indeed enters the draft, Diallo will be waiting for him in the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest, according to Ben Golliver of the Washington Post.

The field for the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest is apparently already filling up.

It seems reasonable to think Diallo will defend his title and he would likely recruit Williamson. In addition to those two players, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell tweeted that he’ll participate if Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo participates, too.

A lot can change in the course of a year but if those four players opt to participate next year, that would be a highly-anticipated event, to say the least.
