Hamidou Diallo scored 19 points on assignment Sunday with the OKC Blue

Rookie Hamidou Diallo recorded 19 points Sunday on assignment from the Thunder to lead the Oklahoma City Blue to a 116-93 win over the Northern Arizona Suns.

The Thunder announced Sunday morning that they assigned Diallo to the Blue prior to the game against the Suns. Diallo also added five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 29 minutes of work.

Thunder two-way contract player Deonte Burton also joined Diallo on the Blue for the game as he scored 12 points and two rebounds during the victory.

Diallo has logged less than 20 total minutes for the Thunder since the start of February and has fallen out of the rotation as a result. The Thunder likely wanted to keep him fresh by assigning him to the Blue on Sunday.

The Slam Dunk Contest winner previously suited up for the Blue on Feb. 10 as he recorded 21 points and eight rebounds during that game. Russell Westbrook was on hand to witness that game, too.

With the Thunder hosting the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night, Diallo said after the game against the Suns that he will be available to play for the Thunder if need be.

The Thunder are favored by 10 points against the Grizzlies but will be playing without the services of Paul George for the third straight game.
