According to the PlayStation Blog post of Halo Studios Community Director Brian "ske7ch" Jarrard, the game will feature two-player couch co-op and four-player online crossplay.

It will likewise boast of high-definition visuals and all-new cinematics, as well as smoother controls and movements.

CNET notes in report that the remake will feature three prequel missions starring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson.

'Halo: Combat Evolved'

It has been 24 years since the release of the original "Halo: Combat Evolved," which was made exclusively available for the Xbox in 2001 before being ported to Windows and Mac OS X.

As fans of "Halo" already know, "Combat Evolved" is the game that introduced super soldier Master Chief and his artificial intelligence companion Cortana to the world. Players take on the role of Master Chief as he battles the Covenant while discovering the secrets behind an artificial world known as Halo.

The game was released to critical acclaim, and it is regarded as of the greatest video games of all time.
