Halloween parties a new rage in Indore

INDORE: Ghostly decor, outlandish outfits, it was ‘trick or treat’ day for Indoreans on Sunday as youths turned into scary creatures at Halloween parties across the city.

While it was mostly the treats, theme games and pranks were also carried in large numbers out in some parties.

A city-based design studio owner Mohit Rajora, who has been organising a Halloween party in the city since 2017, had ensured that youngsters make use of the already available materials to design their spooky outfits for the party. “Last year, we had organised the party virtually. This year around 40 students participated in it,” he added.

Some food outlets and restaurants also ensured giving a spooky touch to their menus for the day and even played a spooky playlist to add on to the mood. From serving Bloody Mary mojito shots to Blood Bath Martini in drinks to khooni paneer and death by cheese balls even the regular dishes had been made to sound scary in order to give the vibe, which was so much fun, said Rhea Gupta, who attended one such theme party with her close friends.

Even private schools organised Halloween theme fancy dress competition virtually for students. Students also participated in activities such as witch hat making, hanging paper bats, pumpkin carving and preparing healthy salad with vegetable and fruits but giving it an eerie twist in terms of decoration.

“My daughter’s school organises the Halloween theme fancy dress competition every year. This year, we dressed her as a vampire and it was so much fun to watch her,” said Siddhi Kumar.
