Halloween horror as car set on fire in Lanarkshire town

A car was set on fire in Muirhead on Halloween, with police now appealing for the public's help to trace the culprit.

The blaze on Drumcavel Road was reported to officers at 8.14pm yesterday.

Detective Constable Katy Goldie, of Lanarkshire CID, said: “Thankfully the fire was safely extinguished and nobody was injured.

“We are appealing to anyone with information about the incident or anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to contact police.

“If you believe you can assist our investigation, call 101 quoting incident number 4442 of October 31.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
