Halloween ghost train ride you can experience an hour from Liverpool

Halloween is coming up and there’s a spooky train ride you can take not far from Liverpool.

The Halloween Ghost Trains on the East Lancashire Railway promise plenty of frightful fun, with tricks and treats for the whole family.

People are being invited to ride the haunted steam engine with its dedicated scream team, and help banish the ghosts, ghouls and monsters that could be lurking nearby.

Expect a few surprises along the way, like the crew’s horrible heroes Count Brian the vampire, Veronica the witch and Zombie Bob, who will all help passengers avoid any terrible curses.

There’s also a band of Ghoulish Ghosts who will be singing some spine-chilling songs, creating magic spells and tricking passengers into joining in the foolish fun.

People who dare to climb onboard are encouraged to wear fancy dress and there will be devilish treats available to buy at the station buffet.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and cost from £18.30 per adult and from £12.90 per child. The Halloween Ghost Trains will depart at 5.30pm, 7pm and 8.30pm from October 28 to 30. All trains depart from Bury station, which is around a 50 minute drive from Liverpool, and it’s not possible to board elsewhere. You can book tickets here.
