Halle-loo-jah! Handy map shows all of the toilets open in the UK during lockdown

With temperatures across the UK set to soar this week, many Brits will head out to bask in the sunshine.

But while socialising with up to six friends outdoors is now allowed, there’s one thing holding many people back - the lack of toilets.

Many public toilets are yet to be reopened, forcing Brits to risk going to the toilet in a bush, or crossing their legs until they get home.

Now, a handy map has been launched that shows you all of the toilets open in the UK during lockdown.

The map, called Lockdown Loo, includes the ‘loo-cations’ of over 1,100 toilets across the UK, including in pubs, shops and service stations.

It’s built from information supplied by the council, as well as the public.

Founders Thomas and Charles Riley explained: “This website is only as useful as the information we are supplied.

“If you know of toilets which are open - whether they are at pubs, stations, cafes or in a public park - please SUBMIT them. We are also monitoring council updates and speaking to businesses.”

Several grateful users have taken to Twitter this week to express their delight at the handy map.

Oliver Dowden quizzed on when public toilets will be open

One user wrote: “My new favourite website! This lockdown has proved very restrictive due to lack of toilet facilities.”

Another added: “Lockdown life-changing discovery. Now I can travel beyond Zone Bladder!”

And one joked: “Halle-loo-jah!”

You can check out the Lockdown Loo map here.
