Hall practices his in-flight entertainment for Supercars crowd

After being crowned world champion of this year's Red Bull Air Race, pilot Matt Hall will take to the skies above the Newcastle 500 to provide spectators with some in-flight entertainment, so to speak.

The former fighter pilot demonstrated on Wednesday some of the aerial acrobatics he will pull off in his Red Bull MXS-R race plane over Newcastle Harbour on Saturday and Sunday of the Supercars event.

The annual race kicks off on Friday, November 22.

Hall said he had performed fly-overs at Supercars events for the past 10 years, but this will be the first time time he gets to take to the sky during the Newcastle 500.

"I finally get to do it in my hometown," he said.

"I'll be doing some low level racing demonstrations, some aerobatics making the plane tumble over and hover and I'll be flying up to 12 G [ G-Force]."
