Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland down as app and websites crash on New Year's Day

Halifax, Lloyds and Bank of Scotland customers are currently unable to access their accounts after their apps and websites crashed.

Many frustrated bankers took to Twitter to air their concerns.

One wrote: "Lloyd’s Bank absolutely down! Can’t access my money."

Another said: "Not a great start to #2020 or #confidence #inspiring Halifax and Lloyd's appear to be down at the moment."

Halifax has issued an apology on social media to customers saying they are working quickly to resolve the issue.

Lloyds have also responded to bankers confirming they are also having internet and app problems.

Bank of Scotland are yet to comment.

According to Down Detector, the three banks first started having trouble at 7am - the issues are still ongoing.
