Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB down as thousands of customers 'can't access cash'

Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Lloyds have left thousands of customers unable to access their banking apps.

According to Down Detector, customers are facing issues with online banking, using an ATM, logging in, seeing their balance and even accessing money.

Thousands of customers were hit with technical issues on Thursday morning, November 18 with some commenting and taking to social media explaining they couldn't even access their money from a cash point or see their balance, The Daily Record reports.

Customers said that their bank balance is showing up as N/A.

Bank of Scotland customers in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen are the worst affected as they started experiencing issues around 7.30am with with customers saying their balance is 'missing' and shows 'N/A'.

Lloyds customers also started seeing issues around 7am, with 2,500 people reporting problems on Down Detector. People in London appear to be impacted the most.

One Lloyds user commented on Downdetector: "Both my personal account and business account showing all accounts as `N/A`. Same with my wife's Halifax account. The only account showing is her credit card account."

The banks service status said: "We know some customers are having issues with Internet and/or Mobile Banking. We're sorry for this. We're working to get it back to normal soon."

Some 1,356 Halifax users also reported issues this morning at around 6.30am, as it appears all customers are experiencing the same problems with their app.

Another commented: "That will teach me to bank, personal and business with one bank alone. Unable to use cards online, unable to pay suppliers, invoices and wages.

"Can't even go to ATM machine. Not much point in me opening up today. Days trading lost."

One wrote: "I went on my Halifax app all my accounts are showing n/a. Went to cashpoint ant and can't use my cards."

The outages have not been officially confirmed by Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland at this time.

Across Twitter, it appears many customers are experiencing the same problems and have begun tweeting the banks for assistance.

One wrote: "N/a for balance. Can’t see this month transactions."

Another commented: "Mines saying N/A on my current account and savings. I can't access any of my money and I have 3 kids."

A third added: "I thought I'd been robbed"

It's the second time in 25 hours the three banks have been down, with reports on Wednesday of people unable to get into their accounts.
