Halfords Autocentres has announced a free 'brakes for life' deal which could reportedly save motorists up to £1,600 in their lifetime.
To celebrate 10 years of its Brakes4Life guarantee, the motoring retailer said that customers currently signed up to any similar competitor initiative will be able to join for free until October 29, 2021.
All you have to do is book in for a free brake check online, bring along proof of being in another scheme for free sign-up and if your brake pads need replacing Halfords will do the work free of charge.
Halfords’ Brakes4Life lifetime guarantee will see motorists receive free replacement brake pads or brake shoes whenever they need them, for as long as they drive.
Unlike competitor schemes, the offer is transferable to all future cars, saving the average driver £1,600 over their driving lifetime.
All customers who buy a set of brake pads or shoes are eligible for this deal with future sets being free.
Halfords Autocentres are also offering drivers free brake checks at more than 300 branches across the UK, which comprise an inspection by ATA trained technicians on all components in a car’s brake system. These include brake pads, shoes, callipers, hoses and handbrake linkages.
Chris Lunn, Category Manager at Halfords Autocentres, said: “Brake pads are amongst the most frequently replaced components on a car and our Brakes4Life scheme offers motorists peace of mind against unexpected costs."
"The scheme is available to all of our customers who purchase a set of brake pads or shoes, with all future sets being free forever - even if you change your car," he continued.
"For a limited time to celebrate the 10-year anniversary, we’ll be waiving the initial purchase requirement for motorists who are signed up with any competitor scheme."
To be eligible for the offer, customers simply need to book and arrange for a free Brake Check on Halfords.com or in-store at any Halfords Autocentre and be able to show proof they are signed up to a competitor scheme which provides free brake pad replacement.
Halfords has over 10,000 people working in its shops, Autocentres and Mobile Expert hubs, at over 750 locations. You can find out your nearest branch by using the retailer's store locator tool.
