Halfords launches new service to hide Christmas presents

Halfords have launched a new service that allows parents to keep their kids' Christmas bikes in-store until Christmas Eve so mums and dads don't have to worry about hiding them at home.

The free service - dubbed ‘Santa’s Cycle Stash’ - is set to save Christmas day surprises as new research reveals the majority (55 percent) of kids have gone hunting for their presents before Christmas and almost half (49 percent) have been successful in finding them.

The service was masterminded by the retailer as over half of British parents (57 percent) say they find it impossible to keep Christmas presents hidden and kids’ bikes were voted the hardest to conceal. Cupboards are the most popular place to stash gifts (20 percent) followed by on top of wardrobes (18 percent), but some parents even resort to hiding them in the attic (15 percent).

Halfords ‘Santa Cycle Stash’ service is designed to help parents keep the Christmas magic going for longer with a hassle-free and full proof bike hiding place right up until Christmas Eve. Especially since the discovery of presents left a fifth (21 percent) of kids questioning Santa’s existence and more than one in ten (11 percent) stopped believing in St Nick altogether.

30 percent of British parents plan to buy their child a bike for Christmas this year, but worldwide supply chain issues have created worry that many will be left empty handed. However, Halfords has a huge range of kids bikes with options for all ages, abilities and price points, and the retailer is expecting stock of tens of thousands more in the lead up to Christmas.
