Halfback duo named in Leeds Rhinos squad for first time this year ahead of Leigh Centurions clash

Robert Lui and Callum McLelland are in line to make their first Leeds Rhinos appearances of the season this week, with Richard Agar naming both half-backs in a much-changed squad for Thursday's game with Leigh Centurions.

Lui and McLelland have been on the sidelines so far this season due to injury, but both have provided Agar with a timely boost by returning to the Rhinos' squad at a time when Leeds are unable to call on several key players due to injury and suspension.

Luke Gale, Bodene Thompson and Alex Mellor are suspended following Sunday's ill-tempered game against Salford - but Leeds have included Mellor in their squad ahead of an appeal later on Tuesday regarding his one-match suspension.

Konrad Hurrell is ruled out due to concussion, while Richie Myler also picked up a finger injury in Sunday's victory against the Red Devils. Ash Handley is also out with a concussion suffered while on England duty, and long-term absentees Alex Sutcliffe, Jack Walker and Harry Newman remain unavailable.

There is better news elsewhere as Liam Sutcliffe returns after completing his return to play protocol following a positive Covid test, but prop Zane Tetevano remains unavailable for selection.

Leeds Rhinos squad: Tom Briscoe, Rob Lui, Mikolaj Oledzki, Kruise Leeming, Matt Prior, Alex Mellor, Rhyse Martin, Brad Dwyer, Liam Sutcliffe, Tom Holroyd, King Vuniyayawa, Sam Walters, Callum McLelland, Luke Briscoe, James Donaldson, Jarrod O'Connor, Jack Broadbent, Corey Hall, Liam Tindall, Levi Edwards, Morgan Gannon.
