Half-year revenue and profit up at cyber security firm NCC Group

Manchester-based global cyber security expert NCC Group has reported half-year profit and revenue growth.

In interim results for the half year to November 30, the group’s revenue increased 5.3 per cent to £132.7m, up from £126m the same period the previous year.

Gross profit increased 2.8 per cent to £52m, up from £50.6m, while pre-tax profit grew 8 per cent to £9.4m, up from £8.7m.

The group said its full-year outlook remains unchanged.

Chief executive Adam Palser said: “We are now at the mid-point of our three year transformation programme and while work remains to be done, we are on track and I am pleased with the progress we are making towards NCC Group’s vision to become the leading cyber security adviser globally.

“Our performance strengthened over the course of the period, and we enter the second half with positive momentum and a robust order book across our businesses.

“We remain excited by the Group’s long term prospects and are confident in delivering full year performance in line with expectations.”

The results come after a turbulent few years at the firm, with a dip in profits reported in the first half of 2018 resulting in sweeping changes to its board and executive management team.

The 2018-19 financial year was the first of the firm’s three-year ‘Securing Growth Together’  transformation strategy.
